Little Women
December 11, 2021 | 3 - 5 p.m.
The timeless classic Little Women, based on the book by Louisa May Alcott, adapted for the stage by Gary Peterson, and directed by OKWU Professor Evan E. Hewitt is playing at Oklahoma Wesleyan’s Lyon Hall. “Little Women may seem at first glance to be far removed from our experience in modern times but it was written when the civil war was raging and the rights of individual states versus the national government were in debate and added to that was the spread of Scarlet Fever. In spite of all this, the March family’s resilience provides a message of hope that will resonate with today’s audiences.”, says Director Evan E. Hewitt. Little Women, is one of the most widely read novels and has been produced into musicals, plays, TV shows, and multiple feature films. The story follows the March Family as they struggle with poverty, scarcity, and the absence of their father due to the Civil War. Little Women is presented through a special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service, Inc. Denver, Colorado.
