Each season brings something new to the Bartlesville Area History Museum's Pioneer Gallery. This Winter, BAHM is proud to present: A 50,000-Foot View: The Stratospheric Rise of Aviation in Washington County. On display from January 3rd through March 31st, the exhibit takes visitors on a journey exploring the unique and impressive history of Aviation in Washington County. The exhibit will feature various artifacts from Washington County's aviation endeavors over the years. In addition, youngsters and the "young at heart" may enjoy our history of aviation coloring station. "Washington County has a rich aviation history beginning with the Dewey Airplane Factory and Billy Parker, to Phillips Petroleum Company’s work to develop and improve aviation fuel through Art Goebel's Dole Pineapple Race in the famed Woolaroc plane, to Wiley Post creating the first space suit. We have a history of innovative risk-takers that have left an aviation legacy in our own backyard," states Betty Keim, BAHM's Education Coordinator. The Museum is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (closed on weekends and holidays) at 401 S. Johnstone Avenue, 5th Floor. Museum entry is free, but donations are always welcome. No reservation is necessary. If you have questions, you may reach Bartlesville Area History Museum staff at (918) 338-4290 or eat0@eau0eav0eaw0.
